Why Work at Sage

It's not corporate.

Real Pay, No Games

Competitive hourly + production bonuses. No misleading "$200K potential" with impossible quotas. You earn what you produce.

No Upsell Pressure

We don't push you to sell replacement when a repair will do. Tech-to-customer trust is the whole business. Do the right work.

Respected, Not Managed

You're a professional. We treat you like one. Less micromanagement, more support and clear expectations.

Real Growth Path

Helpers can become techs. Techs can become leads. Office staff can grow into ops. We promote from within whenever possible.

  • Reliable, on-time, ready to work
  • Comfortable with physical work, ladders, attics
  • Real path to becoming a tech if you put in the work
Office · Dispatch

  • Strong customer service skills, clear communicator
  • Comfortable with scheduling software (we use Jobber + GHL)
  • HVAC or plumbing industry knowledge a plus
  • Patient, helpful, professional on every call
What We Look For

Skills can be taught.

  • Show up on time

The single biggest thing. Customers wait. Techs depend on each other. Reliability is the foundation everything else is built on.

  • Do the right work, not the most work

If a $200 repair fixes it, that's what we quote. We don't push replacement to hit numbers. Earn customer trust and the work keeps coming.

  • Treat the customer's home like your own

Shoe covers, clean up after yourself, don't track in the attic, leave it better than you found it. Basic respect — and it's what separates us.

  • Be honest with your team

If you don't know something, say so. If you broke something, say so. If a customer's frustrated, tell dispatch. We solve problems faster when nobody's hiding them.

  • Keep learning

Codes change. New equipment comes out every year. The techs who stay sharp earn more and stay employable for life.

Common Questions

The short answers.

Are you hiring right now?

We don't have specific openings posted, but we're always open to talking with experienced techs, plumbers, and reliable helpers. If we don't have an immediate need, we'll keep your resume on file and reach out when something opens up.

What's the pay structure?

Field techs earn competitive hourly wages plus production bonuses. Helpers start hourly with raises as you skill up. Office staff is salaried. We discuss specifics during the interview — we don't play games with comp.

Do you provide trucks and tools?

Yes — Sage provides the truck, stocked with common parts and equipment, plus shop tools. Techs typically bring their own personal hand tools.

What about benefits?

We're a growing family-run shop — benefits scale with the role and tenure. We discuss the full package during the offer stage. Paid time off, holidays, and uniform stipends are standard.

I'm an apprentice with no real experience — should I still apply?

Yes. Reliability and attitude matter more than years on a truck. We've trained good helpers into good techs. If you show up, listen, and don't quit when it gets hot in the attic, you'll have a real career here.

Do I need to be licensed?

For plumbing field work, journeyman or master license is preferred for solo service work. HVAC techs work under our state contractor license (CAC1824805). Helpers and apprentices work under our licensed techs — no license required to start.

Where do you work?

All across SWFL — Lee, Collier, and Charlotte Counties. Fort Myers, Cape Coral, Naples, Bonita Springs, Estero, Sanibel and everywhere in between. Most techs live within 20-30 minutes of our coverage area.
